Governor Receives Judges Ruling On Fundraising

Superior Court Judge Shelleyanne Chang has ruled that Fair Political Practices Commission regulations approved last year went further than the law, voter approved Proposition 34, allowed, therefore a tentative court ruling has given Governor Schwarzenegger a green light to continue raising millions of dollars for his proposed ballot initiatives.

A campaign-finance watchdog group complained to the FPPC that the governor was in violation of it´s rules which had extended political candidate contribution limits to candidate-controlled ballot measure committees raising funds. The group charged that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was actively directing the activities of the Citizens to Save California Committee, a group raising money for several initiatives the governor supports.
