Widows Fight For Pension Rights Omitted From State Reform Plan

Widows of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty will be featured in a radio ad campaign that criticizes Governor Schwarzenegger´s plan to reform the state´s public pensions system.

The ads are of a growing attack on the governor over his proposed changes to everything from public employee pensions to how legislative districts are drawn. The widows take aim at the plan, which appears to eliminate death and disability benefits for future officers and firefighters. His current plan makes no mention of them. Schwarzenegger has said he didn´t intend to eliminate them and is willing to draft a separate plan to restore them.
