Hundreds of injured workers and their supporters are accusing Governor Schwarzenegger of breaking his promise to protect injured workers.
About 300 people rallied today outside the state Capitol to protest workers´ compensation changes the Republican governor pushed through the Legislature a year ago.
In Los Angeles, about 500 protesters marched outside the state office building, chanting down with Arnold.
They say that the governor´s legislation has resulted in widespread delays in workers´ comp cases, denials of treatments recommended by physicians and cuts of up to 70 percent in benefits for workers with disabling job-related injuries.
Schwarzenegger contends the changes have produced tremendous results that have helped lower costs for employers and improved treatment for injured workers.
