We are residents of the country and live on a dead end gravel road off of Big Hill Rd. We received a call from Waste Management Cal Sierra this afternoon stating that they will no longer pick up our garbage and recycling at curbside. We were told that we must now truck our cans to the county road to continue receiving service. The explanation given was that their trucks are now too big to turn at the end of the road. I understand that there maybe a problem with the new recycling trucks, even though the new trucks have been making the trip down our road for the last two months with no problem. However, discontinuing the garbage service that they have given for the seven years we have lived here can’t be blamed on the road since neither the truck or road have changed.
We will be cancelling our service in the morning.
