World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Forum

The Mother Lode Office of Catholic Charities and the Tuolumne County Senior Center are holding a Tuolumne County World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Forum on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 1:00 – 3:30. The Forum will take place at the Senior Center – 540 Greenley Road, Sonora. All are welcome.

Activities include an Elder Abuse Prevention presentation, educational materials and information from local agencies and banks, as well as a panel speaking on the topic of elder abuse, prevention, and signs to watch for. Panel speakers include Sheriff Jim Mele, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department; Michie Anderson, Adult Protective Services; Cathi Ruiz, Center for a Non-Violent Community; and Bryan Adcox, Wells Fargo Bank.

All are invited to have lunch at the Senior Center before the Forum from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Suggested donation of $4.50 for those over 60 and under 60, a cost of $6.00 will be charged. Lunch reservations are required for this event and can be made by calling the Senior Center at 533-2622.
