Volunteers are needed to help prepare Federal and State income tax returns for seniors, ages 60 and older, and low income taxpayers in Tuolumne County for the AARP Tax-Aide Program. The AARP Tax-Aide Program is the nation’s largest free volunteer run counseling and preparation service helping more than 2.5 million people nationwide file their tax returns last year.
Volunteers should be familiar with simple tax returns. Electronic filing (E-File) will be available. Training for new and returning volunteers will be held beginning January 2015 in Sonora.
After completing training Tax Preparers are asked to volunteer at least 4 hours each Wednesday morning from 8:00am to 12:00pm between Feb 4 and Apr 8, 2015 at the Senior Center on Greenley Rd. Sonora. For more information or to volunteer visit the AARP Tax-Aide web site at www.aarp.org/taxaide.
