The Tree mortality community forum will provide an opportunity for Tuolumne County residents to learn about the Count’s hazard tree removal plan, with the coordinated efforts of our area partners.
Topics include: Hazard tree removal, woodyard locations, project area maps, slash/wood disposal sites.
There will be officials from Tuolumne County OES, CAL Fire, TUD, county roads, US Forest Service, Sierra Resource Management, AT&T and PG&E. Tuolumne County is planning to remove thousands of trees over the coming months that are threatening roads and other public infrastructure. The high tree mortality is primarily being attributed to a combination of the drought and bark beetles.
The meetings on April 7 at Columbia Elementary,
April 12 in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in downtown Sonora,
April 14 in the Twain Harte Elementary Cafeteria and
April 19 at Tenaya Elementary in Groveland.
All meetings start at 6pm.
