A course introducing an engineering/scientific explanation of automotive mechanics and fuels. The course will involve hands-on experience with biodiesel and descriptive information on the process of manufacturing biodiesel. The chemical composition of fossil fuels, including gasoline and diesel, will also be discussed. The course will also involve an introduction of automotive transmissions, including a physical transmission to analyze. The design, manufacturing and performance of a transmission will be thoroughly explained.
Materials Required/Requested: Note paper, writing utensil, a smile and enthusiasm.
