St. James Concert Series presents Tenor Ric Campero

Not a stranger to Sonora, Mr. Campero has performed as guest soloist for the Sonora Bach Festival as well as having been a featured artist with the Concert Series in the past. Other venues include Carnegie Hall in New York, the Vatican in Rome, the Three Tenors concert for the Sonora Opera League, the California Opera in Fresno, and the CSU Stanislaus Opera Recital. He appeared with Townsend Opera Players in Secret Garden, Die Fledermaus, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Pagliacci, and La Boehme in the role of Parpignol. He has directed West Side Story, Pippin, Carnival, The Me Nobody Knows, and Guys and Dolls.
Mr. Campero, a graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton and past winner in the Regional Metropolitan Opera competition, has divided his program into two sections: Oratorio and Spirituals and Folk, Fun & Opera. He opens the program with the beautiful Pie Jesu from Faure’s Requiem and continues with music from West Side Story, La Bohome, Elijah, Messiah, and Rigolleto as well as Danny Boy, Deep River, There is a Balm in Gilead, and Go Tell It On The Mountain.
