Proving once again that Sonora Has Talent, the St. James Concert Series proudly presents local Soprano Julie Sieben in concert. Julie received her BA in music performance from CSUSB. Since moving to Sonora in 1983 she has been a member of the Columbia Community Chorus, the Sonora Opera guild and the Sonora Master Chorale and has been a featured soloist with the Symphony of the Sierra.

For this program, Julie will be joined by her nephew, Kevin Hemstreet. Kevin’s many theatrical credits include FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, MAN OF LA MANCHA and DARK OF THE MOON. He also appeared in SWEENEY TODD, a performance for which he won Phoenix Theater awards as Best Actor in a Musical. He has worked extensively as a professional soloist, chorister and studio musician. Mr. Hemstreet received his education in music at the University of Arizona and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and counseling at Arizona State University.

Accompanying Ms. Sieben will be Gail Johnson. Gail has performed in many Red Church concerts, at local theaters, and as accompanist for the Columbia College Community Chorus and Choir. She is a former director of the Sonora Bach Festival and teaches piano at Columbia College as well as privately.

Tickets are $12 ($5 for students) and are available at The Mountain Book Shop or by calling 209-536-0825. For more information, please see our website at sjconcertseries.org
