The Best Stress Reliever: A Paint Party
Whimsical artist Mary Sexton invites adults to enjoy a glass of wine and dabble in the relaxing pastime of painting at her “Sip ’N Paint” event Friday evening, July 21, from 6 to 9:30 pm, located at Manzanita Arts Emporium, 1211 South Main Street in historic Angels Camp. The cost for the class is $45 and includes all painting materials and wine is complimentary.
Participants will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere the artist creates to encourage engagement in a group setting that promotes painting as a non-competitive activity whose focus allows stress to disappear and worries to fade. Sexton will expertly lead participants to discover the ways painting engages both thought and emotions as they work on their own creations. Her “Whim Mobile Paint Parties” are delightful events that support a positive experience regardless of skill level or previous experience.
Mary Sexton is a local artist and long-time Murphys area resident. Although she especially enjoys oil on canvas work, her experience includes an array of styles and art expression. Her work has been recognized in the Mother Lode region, and she recently took top awards at the Calaveras County Fair.
