Be a part of the American Storytelling Movement at the Mother Lode Storytelling Guild’s second retreat! Throughout this inspiring weekend, enjoy 3 public performances, featuring outstanding California tellers: MaryGay Ducey, Tim Ereneta, BZ Smith and more. This year’s retreat recognizes Sierra Nevada families affected by severe fires, including the 2013 Rim Fire and the 2015 Butte Fire.
FRIDAY EVENING: Attend the Retreat Reception & Story Slam. Stories about SPARKS*!
SATURDAY: Attend stimulating workshops that will motivate (Lunch included). Participate in skillful coaching sessions with well-respected tellers. Geared for beginning through master storytellers. Topics will cover a wide-range of practical applications: Classrooms, Museums, Parks, Environmental Awareness, Multiple Therapies (counseling; grief; rehabilitations), Libraries & Literacy Outerach, Non-Profits, Communications.
Saturday includes a session on the Stories of Fire Survivors.
SATURDAY EVENING: Storytelling Concert with MaryGay Ducey & Tim Ereneta, two of California’s best-loved tellers.
SUNDAY MORNING: Attend Open Coaching with MaryGay Ducey, Retreat Brunch at Historic Murphys Hotel.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: The Sierra Story Winds Afternoon Family Concert with the Mother Lode’s Stellar Kid Tellers!
