Have you ever flipped through the outings at the back of Sierra magazine (or looked online) and wondered why anyone would pay to do work on their vacation? Over the past several years Elaine has discovered that eradicating invasive plants, removing illegal campsites, and maintaining trails is extremely rewarding. Besides having an opportunity to visit and learn about beautiful and wild places, the work of volunteers is vital for the conservation and maintenance of our public lands.
Elaine will share photos of these week-long adventures with Wilderness Volunteers and National Sierra Club from many places throughout the West, including Anza Borrego State Park, Pyramid Lake, Desolation Wilderness, Pinnacles National Monument , Big Sur, and Yosemite.
