The public is invited to a free lecture sponsored by the Central Sierra Audubon Society. Forest fires like the 2013 Butte Fire and 2013 Rim Fire are disturbing because they threaten our way of life. Yet for millions of years, wildfires have also created the very forests we love and are essential to our environment and wildlife. Join us as we explore the adaptations and lifestyles of wildlife in newly burned forest areas. A film, “Searching for the Gold Spot,” by biologist Maya Khosla will also be shown. Refreshments provided. Contact 728-9170 for more info.
