The 33rd annual POISON OAK SHOW is Saturday, September 26, at the former St. Charles Saloon on Main and Jackson Streets in Columbia State Historic Park. Aren’t you just itchin’ to participate?
This event is like a traditional flower show, except all entries must include poison oak and they’re free! The categories are: best arrangement of poison oak (and another plant, and an inanimate object), most potent-looking leaves (green, and red), largest single leaf, best poison oak accessory or jewelry, most original poison oak dish (with recipe), largest poison oak branch or trunk, best photograph of poison oak, and best photograph of poison oak rash (or in person).
Entries may be submitted from 10 am to noon on the 26th, and judging by popular vote is between noon and 2 pm. At 3 pm “Columbia time” the winners will be announced. For more information, call 402-5353.
