Pat McGreevy of Glencoe will speak January 15 at the San Andreas Library on the progress of the Amador Calaveras Consensus Group’s Project Cornerstone. The ACCG is a coalition of 40+ agencies and individuals that works to create fire-safe communities, sustainable local economies and healthy forests and watersheds. Recreation is a strand that runs through this project and will be highlighted by Pat.
McGreevy is one of three recipients of the 2014 Senior Volunteer Of the Year award and has worked tirelessly on the organization and implementation of Prop. 40 funding to create parks, ball fields, signage, playground equipment, shade structures and other amenities across the county. He has also created a website called CalaverasOutside.org which catalogs hiking trails in Calaveras and Alpine Counties and which represents the result of countless hours of walking the land, plotting routes, photographing trails and historic sites, consulting with experts, creating maps and writing guides.
The program meeting will take place from 6:30 PM to 8 PM at San Andreas Library, located at 1299 Gold Hunter Rd., San Andreas 95249, 209-754-6512. See link below for map. Refreshments will be served. The program meeting is open to all community members.
