Native Sons Hall
Christmas Day brings a 34-year Calaveras tradition, a free community dinner hosted by Murphys Friends. December 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall on Main Street in Murphys, it will be turkey with all the trimmings, and gifts for the young people.
This tradition started in 1983 at the Utica Hotel in Angels Camp by Bob Bach, Richard Wilmshurst, Alan Corell and Renee Weaver Saletta. It now has about 40 volunteers, some who have been doing this for years.
