The Mother Lode Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is recruiting volunteers to assist with monitoring the quality of care, identifying and resolving problems, and to respond to complaints received on behalf of residents in long-term and residential care facilities in Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, and Tuolumne Counties.
We are seeking volunteer advocates who are comfortable with assisting in conflict resolution, have excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills, and the ability to be objective and independent during investigations. The monthly time commitment is approximately 15 flexible hours.
A free, state-mandated, 36-hour training to become certified by the California Department of Aging will begin Tuesday, January 23rd in Sonora and continue Tuesdays and Thrusdays until Feb 8th. Mileage reimbursement is available for those traveling from Amador and Mariposa Counties upon completion of the training and certification.
