Join park staff and costumed volunteers in a live reenactment and solve a real historical case for their annual History’s Mysteries event during four Saturdays this summer.
This year’s tragedy, the Allen vs. Knox duel of 1854, led to some very interesting events. After watching the incident occur, the public will have the opportunity to interview the witnesses and participate in a trial to find out what exactly happened and who is responsible. This year’s event will also include historical information on dueling during the California Gold Rush. Come have some fun and learn at the same time!
History’s Mysteries will occur on August 1, August 15, and August 29, at 10:00 am each morning. The August 1 date will also include an afternoon performance at 2:00pm. Space is limited to 50 people. Reservations are highly recommended. $5/adults and $1/children. Due to the violent nature of this event, parents may find it is not appropriate for children under age 12. However, child tickets are available at $1 each. Each child under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To purchase tickets, please visit the park museum or www.friendsofcolumbiashp.com to buy online.
