Murphys Hotel and Restaurant
Dear Friends and Book lovers!
Come join Manzanita Writers Press for a FREE gala literary event and book launch up at Murphys Historic Hotel Sunday October 18, at 3 PM – there will be an open mic to share your tales, poetry, or stand-up humor at 4 PM. Hear Glenn Wasson regale the audience with his stories about the Mother Lode from his hardcover book, Too Much to Swallow. With a beer tasting and a raffle, then a no-host dinner with writers afterwards – what more could you want for a good time? Also, Jim Fletcher will be there to sign his new book, all you Mark Twain fans — Mark Twain’s 88 Days in the Mother Lode & Stories of the Gold Rush. And he’ll talk about how that little ole frog launched Mark’s career. And then some.
C’mon down! Or up – depending on where you’re driving from. From 3-5 PM at the jewel of the Mother Lode – downtown Murphys, loaded with wineries to tickle your fancy. But notice the cover – and, it’s Oktoberfest month – and, the Murphys pub will be having a specialty beer tasting for this event. But you can go taste some wines between the event and dinner. Or before 3 PM. Plenty of time to sample!
Manzanita Writers Press is a literary league member of the nonprofit Calaveras County Arts Council and our mission is to support the literary arts in our region.
Hope to see you there! If you can’t make it, we will miss you and hope to see you some day at another event or literary project.
