Calaveras, Amador and Tuolumne Arts agencies want applications for AnimalScapes Art Project. Starting August 24th send in your submissions.
Artists of all disciplines (painters, photographers, jewelry, sculptos, ceramists, poets, etc.) who live in either county are invited to participate in the professionally juried show, “AnimalScapes of the Sierra Nevada Foothills.” Those selected as Final Artists will hve the opportunity to go on a guided 4 hour “inspirational” field trip to the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), one of AnimalScapes project partners, as well as on a bus tour to view wildlife and habitats hosted by Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), also a partner.
Qualifications, applications, and samples of work must be submitted online (no drop offs)by Sept. 25, 2015. Application fee is $25 must be received by the Calaveras Arts Council by Sept. 25, 2015. AnimalScapes of the Sierra Foothills is an Art Event conceived by Calaveras Arts Council , funded in part by a select State Grant awarded to CCAC, and is slated for statewide attention. The Event includes three month-long rotating shows, opening with Artist Receptions in the three counties. Exhibits are expected to draw 1000 plus visitors.There will be cash awards to winning artists, in several categories, and 70% commission from sales of artwork. The Final Artists will benefit from valuable exposure via print and social media, local radio and TV, and inclusion in 2017 AnimalScapes of the Sierra Foothills wall calendar, which will be enjoyed and collected by countless art and animal lovers.
