Sunday April 27, 2014  11 AM – 6 PM
Rain or Shine

Utica Park in Angels Camp will be the sight for the 17th annual Calaveras Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 27nd.   The theme for this years’ event will be Rain Dance. The free concert and festival, sponsored by the Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth and Families and the Calaveras Greens will feature music, crafts, belly dancers, speakers and information booths.   The keynote speaker this year will be peace activist and California gubernatorial candidate Cindy Sheehan.

“Our theme this year is a local and world wide issue.  Water is precious and we want to call attention to new ways of looking at how we use it and how our current crisis is tied to so many issues.” says organizer and MC Mark Dyken.  “No matter where you stand on climate change or environmental issues, I think we can all agree clean water is important to our quality of life.  We must act together to ensure clean water for future generations.”
The concert will feature a variety of music from folk and Americana to rock.  The lineup includes Clan Dyken, Somer Moon, Billie Shields, Goldy Different, Dyecoustica, Two Dollar Shoe, The Co-motion Dancers and the Sonora Community Drum Circle.

Booth space is available, vendors can call 293-4379 or 795-6536 for more information on how to participate.
