Mother Lode Bonsai Club members will be putting the final touches on their exhibit trees, container pots and display stands to prepare for next month’s annual show. These and other details will be discussed on Saturday, August 4 following the club meeting at 10:00 a.m. in the San Andreas Central Library, 1299 Gold Hunter Road (off Mountain Ranch Road) in San Andreas.
The public is invited to the meeting and can also learn important ways to make plants look their best for displays. Sensei, or club teachers will answer questions and provide suggestions for improving the overall appearance of bonsai trees. There is no charge to attend.
The annual show and exhibition will be held on September 22, also at the San Andreas Central Library where dozens of the club members’ best bonsai specimens will be on view. Along with demonstrations and prize drawings, bonsai-related items will be available for sale. Admission and parking are free.
Mother Lode Bonsai Club members come from Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties, as well as the central valley. For more information, contact Richard McKinstry at (209) 288-2330 or go online to www.motherlodebonsai.org.
