Baseball Field Damaged in Butte Fire is Re-built by Community
State Farm Grant Supports Repair of Phil D. Alberts Baseball Field in Mountain Ranch
The Phil D. Alberts Baseball Field was damaged during the 2015 Butte Fire. The damage was not from flames but, rather, from heavy use of the field as a staging area for emergency vehicles and equipment. First developed in 1979, the baseball field has seen regular use over the years. After the fire, however, the baseball field was left in an unsafe condition and in desperate need of repair. Teams and players had to find somewhere else to play.
Over the last year, with hard work and great community support, the baseball field was repaired and will soon hear the familiar phrase, “Play Ball”. A baseball team reunion, to celebrate the repair of the baseball field, will occur this coming Saturday.
State Farm provided a $10,000 grant to support the repair of the Phil D. Alberts Baseball field.

Community spaces like baseball fields are invaluable assets to kids and adults alike. State Farm knows the impact wildfires can have on a community. Losing a gathering place like a baseball field can make the devastation all the more difficult for local residents.
It is part of State Farm’s philosophy to be a good neighbor and give back to the communities where we live and work. State Farm is honored to participate in the refurbishment of the Phil D. Alberts Baseball Field in Mountain Ranch, California.
