Come and join in our community theater production of James and The Giant Peach:
Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale of a boy, his insect friends, and their amazing journey across the ocean on a giant peach of fruit!

Auditions will be held on :
Monday, September 7th at 5PM
and Tuesday, September 8th at 5PM.
Rehearsals begin Monday, September 14th.

Performance Dates and Times:
Friday, Nov 6 @ 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov 7 @ 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov 8 @ 2 p.m.
Friday, Nov 13 @ 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov 14 @ 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov 15 @ 2 p.m.

Audition Requirements
Actors should prepare a short song of their choice to be performed A Capella. This is just to give us an idea of your range. Actors will be given sides on site to perform as well. If you have a short monologue it will be wonderful, but not required.

Actors aged 16 and up will be invited to audition. Those under 16 may petition to be in the show and will be considered with parent consent and petition form.

Cast Requirements
•All roles have singing and light dance requirements.
•Small stipends will be offered for the run of the show: $100-200. Stipend dependent on role and commitment.

•Ladahlord: A strange, magical storyteller. Often inserts himself into the story, in disguise, to help push the action forward.

•James: A lonely young boy who lacks confidence. He feels he belongs nowhere in the world. However, when given the right encouragement he becomes resourceful and innovative. A good friend.

•Spiker :James’ mean aunt. A thief and a scoundrel. Shrewd and opportunistic.

•Sponge: James’ other mean aunt. Also a thief and a scoundrel, but not nearly as bright as her sister. She often has her mind on food.

•Spider: A normal spider who has become human-sized after eating a crocodile tongue. Her husband was killed and eaten by Spiker and Sponge. She is warm and friendly to James.

•Green Grasshopper: A wizened grasshopper. An excellent musician. Has his eye on Ladybug.

•Centipede :An ornery centipede. Hates humans, in part because Spiker and Sponge fumigated his family. Prickly and rude, everyone thinks he is a pest.

•Ladybug: A motherly ladybug. Respectable and classy, she has a warm, caring heart. Has her eye on Grasshopper.

•Earthworm: A bit of a scaredy-cat. He is neurotic and worried about everything, but is very friendly and brave when called upon.

Ensemble roles also available.
