Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and lunch starts at 12:00 Noon with an interesting program to follow. Our January luncheon is set for January 18th. Our guest speaker will be Mike Johnson, Fire Chief of the Ebbetts Pass Fire Station in Arnold.
Mike was born in Sacramento and raised in a Kyburz, a small town on the highway 50 corridor. He began his fire service career as a volunteer for El Dorado County Fire District in his home town in 1993. In 1995 the United States Forest Service hired him as a seasonal wildland firefighter and he worked through the ranks to become a full-time fire captain by the time of his departure in 2004. Later in 2004 he was hired by Clark County Fire Department (Southern Nevada – Las Vegas), an agency providing advance life support (paramedicine) response and municipal fire services. When he left the Clark County Fire Department, he held the Rank of Assistant Fire Chief for the agency. He was appointed Fire Chief by the Ebbetts Pass Board of Directors on September, 8 2014. Mike is very proud to serve and be a part of our community. We are happy to have Mike be our luncheon presenter on the 18th.
In addition to monthly luncheons, the Arnold SIR Branch offers the following activities to its members: Golfing, Ladies Day Lunches, RV outings, July BBQ, Dinner Dance and more. Ideas for new activities are encouraged and adopted. Visitors and potential new members are welcome to sample the activities and attend luncheons.
