View private higher-elevation gardens and the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden. Home owners will showcase their smart-water systems, such as cisterns for water collection and solar-powered well pumps.
At the Demonstration Garden, 251 South Barretta Street, Sonora, CA, two water-saving demonstrations are scheduled. At 11 a.m. Al Dahlstrand, Master Gardener and geologist, will talk about easy and inexpensive ways to harvest rainwater. Deana Corsa will demonstrate an easy drip irrigation system. At 1:00 p.m., Rob Kostlivy, Tuolumne County Environmental Health, will describe gray water systems.
Tickets are $10 from any Tuolumne County Master Gardener, from local nurseries, and the UCCE office at 52 North Washington Street, Sonora.
