Copperopolis, CA — Mop up activities are well underway following the Wednesday afternoon Diamond 20 fire.

Jim DeVoll at the C.D.F. Dispatch Center in San Andreas says crews have been mopping up overnight. Today 10 engines, four handcrews and two watertenders are scheduled to be on hand.

135 acres along with two outbuildings were burned. In addition 40 homes were temporarily evacuated. The fire was ignited from a spark that resulted from a car´s jumper cable. Douglas Jenson, who resides on Hub Ct., has been cited for starting the fire that killed his sister-in-law´s dog.
