Residents Can Now Eat Outside Legally

Sonora, CA — Eating outside is now legal in Tuolumne County. The Board of Supervisors voted three to one in favor of making it legal for restaurants to offer seating outside.
In recent history, the lack of an ordinance for eating outdoors has prevented restaurants from legally putting tables outside of their buildings.
The new ordinance stems from the review of a complaint in Columbia, where the Community Development Department discovered that outdoor seating was not included in any zoning ordinance.
