Copperopolis Man Suffers Fatal Injuries

Copperopolis, CA — Russell Evans of Copperopolis succumbed to injuries he sustained Wednesday after he lost control of the Honda Prelude he was driving on Copper Cove Drive.
Evans attempted to regain control of the Prelude but overcorrected and spun out of control. He crossed the double yellow lines and entered the path of a Dodge pickup driven by 62-year-old Donna Savage.
The California Highway Patrol says the pickup broadsided the Prelude, causing extensive damage.
Evans succumbed to his injuries while in flight to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Savage was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released for minor injuries.
