Opening Day Of The Fair, Miss Calaveras Crowned

Angels Camp, CA — The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee is well underway with a well attended opening day Wednesday and an entertaining Miss Calaveras competition that evening.
Wednesday, Kaileen O´Brophy was crowned the 2006 Miss Calaveras. First runner up was Aimee´ Eason and second runner up was Toni Middleton.
Thursday´s events are the parade at 10 a.m. and Extreme Ranch Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.
At 8 p.m. Friday the 1980´s rock band Loverboy will perform.
Saturday at 6 p.m. are the Calaveras Idol finals, followed by country band Hot Apple Pie.
Sunday is the International Frog Jump Finals at 2:30 p.m. The local favorite Destruction Derby starts at 5:30 p.m.
