District 5 Candidates Meet Again

Copperopolis, CA — Around 125 residents showed up in Copperopolis Wednesday night to get a look at the three candidates running for District 5 Supervisor.

District 5 covers Copperopolis, Rancho Calaveras and Jenny Lind.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Calaveras Enterprise hosted the event at the Saddle Creek Lodge.

Each candidate gave an opening statement then fielded questions from Enterprise General Manager Buzz Eggleston.

Incumbent Supervisor Victoria Erickson said her main issues are economic development, parks and recreation, circulation and open space.

Candidate Michael McDaniel said he is a veteran and has no agenda, only the people´s agenda.

Candidate Russ Thomas said if elected he would dedicate himself to preserving the area´s quality of life.

The election takes place June 6.
