Board Eyes Benefit Basin For San Andreas

San Andreas, CA — Monday, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will consider developing a benefit basin fee program for San Andreas.
Public Works officials say development in the area is significantly impacting the local road system.
The basin program would charge developers fees based on the size of their project and its impact on local roads. The program would also list specific road projects that the fees would help fund.
Similar basins exist in Valley Springs and Copperopolis.
The basin fees are on top of the countywide Road Impact Mitigation Fee, which charges developers for their impacts on regional roads.
