Fire Season Extended To December 10

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, Ca — Fire season was scheduled to come to and end this coming Monday for the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit, but that has changed due to the dry weather conditions.

“CDF will be extending fire season until December 10th, so open burning without a burn permit will not be allowed until after that time,” says CAL Fire Prevention Bureau Chief Dennis Townsend.

Up until that time, residents must obtain a valid permit from the fire protection agency having jurisdiction in their area. Burn hours are not limited, however, before burning you must check the burn status by calling the county´s Air Pollution Control District.

Limit burn piles to four feet in diameter, and never burn when there are high winds. Burn only clean, dry, vegetative material. Do not burn household commercial trash, tires, plastic or other garbage.
