At 2:50 an eastbound big rig driven by 55 year old Robert Hegwein of Jamestown rear ended a vehicle driven by 18 year old Thomas Jachetta of Twain Harte that was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Seaborn Rd. The truck pushed the vehicle into the westbound lane where it was hit by a west bound vehicle driven by 47 year old Barry Blaylock of Mi Wuk Village. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch on the north side of Hwy 108.

According to the CHP report Jachetta suffered major injuries and was life flighted to Doctor´s Hospital in Modesto. Blaylock and Nelson were transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
