Decision On Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Pushed To November 6th

Sonora, Ca — A decision on whether to enact an Inclusionary Housing Ordinance in Tuolumne County has been postponed until the November 6th Board of Supervisors meeting.
Housing for Safe Communities, a group who has been advocating for an affordable housing ordinance, took recent input from the Board of Supervisors and drafted an updated version of the ordinance.
The issue was on today´s agenda, but since it is a new draft, the Board asked County Counsel to review the ordinance before it comes up for vote.
If approved, the new ordinance would affect subdivisions that have five or more parcels. 10% of the homes would need to be sold as affordable housing, and the homes would stay in that category for a period of 15 years.
