Lake Tulloch Boating Accident Leaves Boy Seriously Injured

Copperopolis, Ca — A 12 year old boy from Oakdale was seriously injured this afternoon in the South Shore area of Lake Tulloch.
The boy was being pulled on a tube behind his mother´s jet ski, when a 23 year female from the Bay Area struck the boy with her personal watercraft. She later told deputies that by the time she saw the boy, she was unable to avoid the collision.
“Fortunately for him, he was wearing a vest and was able to be rescued and transported to shore,” says Lt. Dan Bressler. “From there he was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center, and then flown to UC Davis. He has some significant internal injuries. His condition beyond that is not known.”
Alcohol is not believed to be involved with the accident.
