Mother Lode Native Dies In Iraq

Yosemite, CA — 31 year old Staff Sergeant Michael L. Ruoff, Jr. was killed in Iraq July 1.
According to the Associated Press Ruoff died Sunday of wounds he suffered from enemy small arms fire in Ta´meem.
According to SFGate.com, Ruoff grew up in the Yosemite area. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division based in Schweinfurt, Germany.
Ruoff was 18 when he joined the Army 13 years ago this coming Friday. His family lives in Colorado.
