Little Sweden, CA — The body of Terrence Tate of Atwater was found near the Little Sweden turnout on Hwy 108 Wednesday afternoon by Tuolumne County Sheriff´s deputies.

The victim of a murder, the 40 year old had been drinking at the Outpost Bar in Winton in Merced County Tuesday evening. According to Merced County Sheriff´s Deputy Paul Barile, Tate was flashing a great deal of money and buying drinks for many of the customers. He left the bar shortly after eight o´clock in an apparent intoxicated state.

The suspects, 29 year old Charles Hukill, Jr. of Merced and 27 year old Beau Ordonez of Atwater, found Tate sprawled on the pavement of the parking lot. After offering to give him a ride home they loaded the victim into their car where they beat and strangled him.

They then proceeded to drive to a home owned by Ordonez´s parents in the 22000 block of Fuller in Twain Harte where they relieved Tate of his valuables. They discovered he only had $35 in his wallet.

According to Barile, Hukill and Ordonez then disposed of the body and returned to Merced where they were arrested Wednesday evening at five o´clock.

Barile added that an unnamed source provided the police with sufficient information that permitted them to make the arrests.

Hukill and Ordonez are jailed in Merced County with no bail and charged with murder.
