Copperopolis Resident May Face D..UI. Charges

Copperopolis, CA — 67 year old Louis Baxter of Copperopolis may face D.U.I. charges after being involved in a head-on accident Friday evening at 8:35.
Baxter was westbound on Copper Cove Drive at approximately 40 mph east of Sawmill Rd. when he allowed his vehicle to cross over the solid yellow lines directly into the path of a Honda Accord driven by 21 year old Lindsey Burton of Copperopolis.
Burton suffered minor injuries while Baxter was transported by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center for minor injuries.
The C.H.P. suspects Baxter was driving while under the influence of alcohol. The investigation continues.
