May Is Older Americans Month

San Andreas, CA — May is Older Americans Month across the country and in the Mother Lode.
Calaveras County officials proclaimed the month locally at its Tuesday meeting.
Calaveras Works and Human Services Agency Director Mary Sawicki told the board senior citizens have built this county and continue to make it better every day.
The national theme for the month isOlder Americans: Making Choices for a Healthier Future.”
The goal is to work together to ensure that older people are treated with dignity and respect and have the opportunity to make their own choices.
On the same subject, a majority of the board members are attending a workshop today on elder abuse at Ironstone Vineyards.
