Sober Grad Planning Underway

San Andreas, CA — Work is underway on planning Sober Grad Night parties for both the 2007 graduating classes of Bret Harte and Calaveras High schools.

CHP officer Mike Maddox says the parties provide a chemical free place for students to be with their friends on graduation night. The Sober Grad Foundation is a coalition of parents that sponsor the parties.

The fun planned for this year includes a rock climbing wall, casino area, a bungee wall, magicians, a hypnotist and temporary tattoos.

Last year 193 from students from Bret Harte attended and 241 attended from Calaveras.

This year Bret Harte graduates on June 1 and will hold its party at Frogtown. Calaveras graduates June 6 and the party is at the high school.
