Sonora Fire Department Set For Food And Toy Fundraiser

Sonora, CA — For the second consecutive year the City of Sonora Fire Department will sponsor Give The Gift Of Giving.

The S.F.D. is asking the community to donate non-perishable food items, i.e., canned and packaged goods and new, unwrapped toys in original packaging. These items will benefit the Mountain Womens Resource Center Domestic Violence Shelter for women and children. The drive will also benefit the Community Christmas Celebration at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.

Captain Todd McNeal is hopeful the second year donations will equal the first year which he labeled as outstanding.

McNeal adds that goods can be dropped off up until Christmas Eve at the Fire Department (201 S. Shepherd), City Hall (94. N. Washington St.) or Sierra Motors in Jamestown (18475 5th Ave.).
