“Complete The Dream” Goal; $500,000 – $600,000.

Sonora, CA — A half-a-million to $600,000 … that´s the goal of the Sonora High School Dunlavy Field fundraising effort.

According to Wildcat Principal Todd Dearden he would be happy if the effort raised that amount for new lighting, a synthetic track and a remodeled entryway.

The lighting must come first as the current poles have to be removed to replace the dirt and gravel track that is slowly damaging the football-soccer field.

Dearden is looking at a minimum cost of approximately $200,000 for lighting, $300,000 for the track and $20,000 to $50,000 for the entry way.

There are a number of ways in which the community can donate to the project. $20.00 T-shirts donated by Mother Lode Motors (Trek For The Track) are available. In addition there will be a new car drawing at the last home football game of the year, Friday, Oct. 31 (Halloween) when the Wildcats host East Union of Manteca. Also Sonora area businesses can display a “Complete The Dream” donation bucket.

Individuals who donate $5,000 or more will have their name or business engraved on a bronze plaque that will be a part of a monument in the new entryway. Donations can be made to the Sonora High School/Track Fund (Attn; Nancie Weiser), 430 N. Washington St., Sonora, CA 95370.
