Angels Camp Bypass Project Right On Target

Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, CA — According to Caltrans Spokesperson Chantel Miller in Stockton the $61.5 million 2.4 mile Angels Camp Bypass project is right on schedule for a completion date of November, 2010.

Hwy 49 motorists may have noticed the start of the paving of the segment of the Bypass that will extend Hwy 4 north of Hwy 49.

Miller adds that the Angels Creek Bridge has now been paved. That had to be accomplished prior to the onset of the rainy season for environmental reasons.

Caltrans awarded the contract to Teichert Construction of Stockton. The Angels Camp Bypass project is constructing a two-lane access controlled expressway on a new alignment from the north junction of Hwy 4 and Hwy 49 to a point of Hwy 4 approximately six-tenths of a mile east of Rolleri Bypass Rd. which is now closed to the motoring public.
