OnCure Drops Plans To Enter Sonora Market

Sonora, Ca — Oncure Medical Corporation has decided to end its bid to open a new radiation services facility in Sonora.
President and CEO David Chernow says the company had been negotiating a lease on a building located on Greenley Rd., right down the street from Sonora Regional Medical Center.
?Low and behold, we found that the hospital (SRMC) had taken the space, by negotiating a lease behind our back,? says Chernow. ?Basically it precluded us from going ahead and developing the facility.?
OnCure had contracted with SRMC up until this year when its contract expired and was not renewed. SRMC is in the process of purchasing new equipment, and will begin offering radiation services in its Cancer Center later this year.
