Juveniles Arrested In Connection To Calaveras Burglaries

Sponsored by:

Dorrington, Ca — The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department has arrested two juveniles believed to be responsible for 16 residential burglaries in the county.

Deputy Chris Dorsey was recently patrolling the area of Chumash Circle in Dorrington because there had been a recent rash of break-ins.

Dorsey noticed two juveniles walking on Chumash Circle that matched the description of possible suspects. He learned that the two are brothers, and proceeded to visit them and a parent at their residence.

When questioned, the brothers admitted to committing the burglaries. The juveniles told the Dorsey that they had searched for unoccupied homes in the area that had windows or doors unlocked. Additionally, they would search the exterior of homes for hidden keys.

The Sheriff´s Department says it appears that the juveniles were primarily breaking into homes in an effort to find alcohol. The juveniles were arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and vandalism. The brothers have been turned over to the Probation Department.
