Nikki Boyer Rounds Out Mother Lode Roundup Queen Candidates

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — 20 year old Nikki Boyer of Tuolumne is the final candidate vying for Mother Lode Roundup Queen honors this year.

The Sonora High graduate is in her second year at Columbia College where she will soon be receiving her A.S. degree. She will then transfer to CSU-Stanislaus in Turlock where she plans to work in sales and marketing eventually being employed as an agricultural instructor.

As a Sonora High Wildcat Boyer was a member of the Leadership Program, a member of FFA and a student director for the California High Schooll Rodeo Association competing in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and girls cutting.

Boyer has entered a number of rodeo queen contests but she readily admits the Mother Lode Roundup competition is definitely the most difficult and intense due to mandatory ticket sales, the number of social events and the continuous competition before the winner is finally announced Sunday, May 4 at the Queen´s Pageant at the Sonora Elks Club.
