Caltrans Hoping To Build Temporary Bridges Heading Into Yosemite

Sponsored by:

Yosemite, Ca — Caltrans has put forth a proposal to build two temporary bridges to bypass a rockslide that is blocking a key entrance into Yosemite National Park.

The bridges would allow for tour buses and other large vehicles to again use Hwy 140 to go into the Park. A stretch of the road has been blocked since the Ferguson Rockslide that occurred two years ago.

Two emergency bridges were put up following the rockslide, but they only accommodate vehicles that are 28 ft. or shorter.
