Cogdill Addresses Budget At Sonora Town Hall Meeting

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — Senate Republican leader Dave Cogdill hosted a town hall meeting in Sonora Friday afternoon to discuss the Governor´s recently released May Revision of the state budget.

“In these tough economic times, hard-working Californians are making difficult choices to make ends meet,” said Cogdill. “The problem isn´t that taxpayers aren´t sending enough of their money to Sacramento, the problem is that Sacramento spends too much.”

The state budget deficit currently sits at $17.2 billion.

Cogdill spoke out against AB 32, the greenhouse gas law signed by the Governor this past year. He stated that the law will make it harder for California to compete economically with neighboring states that have less restriction on emissions.

Other topics included rural healthcare, water supply and the state parks.

The town hall meeting was held at the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors Chambers.
